Bob Mewse loses weight after seeing himself on Google Maps

Bob Mewse is just an ordinary citizen of the United Kingdom, but is probably the first man ever to be inspired to lose weight by searching Google Maps. After searching for himself on the Google application, Google Maps, Mr. Mewse was horrified when he saw an unflattering photograph of himself at his peak weight of 297 pounds.  The reality of his morbidly obese condition inspired him to modify his diet and start exercising. Now he has lost 98 pounds which has reversed his high blood pressure and relieved his chronic back strain.

Morbid obesity is no joke; in fact it is an epidemic in The United States. Here are some quick facts about obesity:

Obesity is a term used to describe body weight that is much greater than what is considered healthy. If you are obese, you have a much higher amount of body fat than is healthy or desirable.

Adults with a body mass index (BMI) greater than 25  and less than 30  are considered overweight.

Adults with a BMI greater than 30  are considered obese.

Anyone who is more than 100 pounds overweight or who has a BMI greater than 40 kg/m2 is considered morbidly obese.
Now that you have come to terms with your own weight, what can you do about it?

Weight-loss surgery may be an option if you are very obese and have not been able to lose weight through diet and exercise. However, these operations are not a “quick fix” for obesity, as diet modification and exercise must still be incorporated into your lifestyle in order to maintain your weight loss.
